Saturday morning wearing her happy bunny pajamas, a smile and holding four of those hideous black and white composition notebooks required this year by her teachers, my daughter approached me and asked me if I could "do something with these ugly notebooks." I laughed and asked her what her deadline for notebook beautification was -- and she laughed and said -- "by Sunday night."
I told her to go and pick out four fabrics, lay them out on my worktable and I would get to them as soon as I can. Well, it took me most of my Saturday evening, and a good part of the day Sunday, and they are not as perfect as I would like them to be -- but they are finished. When I presented them to her I was told that I am the most "awesome" mom, was given a huge kiss -- and a promise of straight A's. Not bad compensation for a day's work!!

Notebook beautification gets an A+ from me! PS...love that huge flower up there in your banner.

ReplyDeleteThese are great. What a wonderful mom!
ReplyDeleteIf it works in terms of straight A's, it's definitely worth it. :) Wish I'd had those kinds of notebooks when I was in school...
