A Purple Picnic Table?????

I decided to breathe a little life into our worn out old picnic table with some purple paint. My family hates it - but I LOVE it!

Now -- my favorite picnic table won't have to hide it's head in shame while standing amongst the fuscia peonies and magenta tulips that surround it in the Spring. Instead -- it can stand proud knowing that commands a spot of honor in my garden. And when autumn bites the trees and their leaves fade and tumble down -- my beautiful Purple picnic table will be a reminder of natures colors of life sleeping beneath those leaves -- and of wonderful things to come!

Next weekend's Project: I plan on using my husband's router to route out a paisley design on the top of the table and inset stained glass!!

  1. I like it! Can't wait to see what you do with the stained glass. On Ocracoke Island, a lot of the specialty shops are in cottages that feature purple walls, shutters, purple bicyle on porch, etc. so you are right in with the artsy crowd.Check out:

  2. I think a purple picnic table is very cool. Your yard will be very bright and fun to be in.

  4. Lovely! Well, I would love a purple picnic table (but I wouldn't be allowed one!)

  5. Love the Purple. I have a purple potting bench, but no picnic table. My husband is very good at amusing my love of purple so maybe someday.
