The Grand Canyon - Carolina to California (and back) - 2014 Winter Tour - Days 13 and 14

My first ever view of the Grand Canyon....

left me breathless.

I was speechless.

Nothing I've seen, or read  prepared me
for this.

There are no pictures, no words...

...that can convey the feelings of vastness,
the silence, and the overwhelming, all consuming feeling
of smallness we experienced.

 THIS will stay with us
.....forever.

  1. It is one of my goals to visit the Grand Canyon some day. I am glad that you got the chance to see it.

  2. What gorgeous shots you got - it IS an impressive place. I saw it when I was in junior high school, part of a family vacation. My mom was on a schedule and pushing us along. We got to the tower, she quickly led us in and around and out and was ready to go. But my dad was mesmerized by that particular spot and wanted to sit awhile, look out over the canyon, think about the native Indians. Mom was near apoplectic. I was ecstatic! Dad won out and as you can see, it was a memory that stayed with me after others from that rushed trip have disappeared. Thanks for sharing.
