A Personal Story Cloth...

I'm still working on my personal symbol/story cloth.  I pick it up every now and again when the mood strikes me.  It is coming along....

....slowly.

After working with so much color all week, it's nice to pick up something more peaceful.

There's nothing better than a personal story cloth, and this one is so soothing and intriguing. I think we knew each other in the once upon a time ago (like 2010ish) when blogging was the rage, and we went visiting frequently. I was Autoquiltography then. Dropped the cloth for writing, and picked it up again in June 2012, weaving it back into my life over at TheBarefootHeart.com (even tho the experts say it's not a good idea, say things must be kept separate. I'm tired of living out of separate containers, though, so I weave it all together and call it life.) I picked it up again when my 54 year old developmentally disabled sister-in-law surprised me by drawing when a friend and I visited her in June 2012. I vowed right then to stitch each one of them, and it's been the most fun , rewarding thing I've had in a long time. When I saw your name over at my place, I recognized you immediately - even remembered that you're a Corgi girl like me. Our Phoebe is getting up there in years - her age grows exponentially with my love for her. They are really something, our Corgis. Nice to reconnect. (I'm in Jude's What If Diaries class, are you? I don't think she's listed me, though.)

Your cloth is going to look amazing. What a really neat idea.

I think the secret of your cloth is the slow development. That you don´t know yet how it will come out.

Peaceful, yes, and subtle. It seems to be unfolding slowly. Lovely.

Hi Jeanne! So nice to hear from you (and your corgi) again!
Yes - I am in Jude's Diaries and am really getting in to it. I just sent
my girl off to college (no more kids at home ) and am finding myself
with more time on my hands. I am enjoying Diaries so much.
I am also taking Glennis' indigo dyeing workshop.

Hi Doris. Thanks so much for stopping by. You are right - I have no idea what path I am on with this. Just enjoying the process.

Hi Jenny. Thanks so much. this is a new road for me - slow cloth.
I am used to sewing by machine. I am really slowing down alot with this one.

I really like this cloth of yours. It seems we share some of the same 'symbols'. I have to get stitching on the ideas in my head. It seems I let other stuff get in the way.
BTW~ In looking at some of your photos and quotes, I thought this may be of interest to you. Have you heard of the Hoka Hey Challenge? Here is the link:

Enjoy.

Hi Nancy. I guess we are somewhat on the same path. I checked out that challenge - boy that's right up our ally. It gives us plenty of time to prepare. I have requested more information. Key West to Alaska - I CAN DO IT! Yes I can!
