I am trying to teach my- self the fine art of embroidery. I am mesmerized by highly textural needlework and have placed that on my "must learn" list. I purchased a few books on the topic and have been doing a bit of research. This is a picture of a piece taken from the book Stitch Magic -- I'm attempting to recreate something similar and will post when complete. What I love about this piece is that the artist utilized torn bits of fabric in various colors and simply a straight stitch which resulted in an amazing textural piece. I love it!
