She's Unusually Unusual....

Girls' Weekend has officially begun. We stopped at the store and bought hot fudge, carmel and Maraschino cherries for sundaes (to eat while watching the season premiere ofWife Swap,) the spaghetti sauce is cooking on the stove, (B : bet you wish you were home right now - don't you!!!) and it's almost time to clean up for dinner.

Right now, we're both in the studio - I on my side, she on hers. Music playing, tv on, both dogs laying on their backs on the cool cement. Ahhhhh, the simple things in life. I'm working on some misc. projects and contemplating my Christmas sewing. Sabrina is immersed in acrylic paint.

Whilest in the middle of working on a painting (a repro of an old Woodstock Poster - she shares her momma's love of vintage 60's art,) she decides to put on her safety goggles (which she is constantly embellishing), and get out her Dremel so she can drill a hole in the head of a button with a skull on it (she bought at Panopolie) so she can wear it on her long silver chain with her other charms. "Won't it be cute to wear for Halloween??? she asks me. Her ability to devour life like a ravenous beast never ceases to amaze me. She never stops.
I just can't help but sit back and look at her and think, "what a wonderfully 'unusual' girl!" XOXO

I wonder where she got her zest for life? Love the idea of a girls weekend. Anna is coming home next weekend and we will do a little something the same. We are making her Halloween costume, yes she is in college but she really gets into Halloween. Probably has something to do with having handmade costumes every year until they thought they were too old to do that. Then Saturday is shopping, her big thing. From there who knows but I get the whole weekend with my baby. Enjoy yours.

that definitely sounds like my kind of Girls' Weekend! & it's obvious Sabrina's got EXCELLENT taste (poster & embellished safety goggles) ... I can only hope Sadie is half as cool when she's Sabrina's age. :)

may the two of you enjoy the rest of YOUR weekend!

sounds like a perfectly perfect time of making and bonding. Made me smile. It's definitely the height of autumn here. Beautiful weather all week and it's been very hard for me to come inside or focus properly. Tonight I'll be stitching with the floss you sent!

Girls' Weekends are great, add a little hot fudge, some music, and crafting -- even better!

That's my kind of weekend! I love that my girls are crafty too. Molly is crafty with paper -- Kellie likes fabric and thread like me. I just bought her a sewing machine for Christmas -- I can't wait to see her face when she sees it!
