Delicious Autumn....

If I were a bird,
I would fly about
the Earth,
Seeking successive
Autumns.

   - George Elliott
Views of Autumn in and around the Recca compound, as
witnessed by Tobie and Gizmo and, of course, John Deer....

Color in the Carolinas this year is spectacular.
I hesitate being indoors
for fear of missing
one breeze,
one leaf,
one smell

of the deliciousness
of Autumn.

I greet Autumn this year
with particular voracity,
as to me, it symbolizes calming,
 and a return to
 a more simple,
peaceful existence.

I look forward to slowing down
and taking the time to
document here some of my recent
adventures ...

a painting workshop I took
with Sterling Edwards at
Art of the Carolinas,
my awesome visit to the
Durham Orange Guild Show
at the Durham Tobacco Campus,
and my recent City & Guilds work.

It's time to slow down and "nest," as winter approaches. But before we do that - I think we are just going to spend a few more days riding around in the tractor, enjoying the outdoors as much as possible.  There will be plenty of time for nesting...... later.

I love the painting from Sterling's class! I took two watercolor classes with Tom Jones this year. One painting is finished, and one needs a little TLC!
