January on OBX...

Didn't see the wild horses today...
But found a few pretties.

What the (s)hell?

Gizmo is a shell hunter.
Has an amazing nose for shells.
If they are there - HE will find them.

THIS GUY can sniff out shells
a mile away.  Especially if they
have critters in them.

(Inhabited shells -  we gently placed  back into the sea,
along with a wish for their longevity.)

All these were found within about an hour
on Corolla at the Outer Banks.

Job well done!

Cape Hatteras, OBX Dog, Corolla Wild Horses and Life...

I just recently realized how much the ocean is a part of who I am.

It feeds my soul in a way that nothing else can.

Lifts my spirits...

...and reminds  me
that I am just a small part
of the larger scheme of things.

I am going to make a conscientious effort
to remind myself of that.

What a beautiful planet
we live on, and I am so
grateful for the role I
am playing in this
grand production.

Been Thinking of the Wild Horses...

...on Corolla and Currituck on the Outer Banks all morning.   They are so special and hold such an important key to the history of the Outer Banks.

We were just on Corolla a few weeks ago looking for them.  Click here to read a bit about them.

I pray they find a safe hiding place.
