One Step Closer...
The entire quilt is up on my design wall (72 blocks) and I think I'm ready to start sewing the blocks together. Dilemma - how to quilt this thing? I hate to just do an echo quilting or meander as I'd like to do something a little more artistic -- but what to do, what to do??????? I'm asking for a little help here -- particularly from my bee buddy (and you know who you are). Oh, the blocks once sewn together will be bordered with a teeny weeny white polkadot on a black background -- presumably 3-4 inches wide, with a hot pink batik piping around the perimeter. So - the black border will be a nice showcase for some quilting, too. I'd love to do a scalloped edge -- but I don't think I'm ready for that yet. HELP!!!

Oh my what a piece of work. And work still to come. I'm unfortunately of no help here as I'm not a quilter but I'm sure you'll find the best solution. All those hearts are gorgeous, so is your choice of the fabrics! Have fun sewing it all together,
Andrea
You-know-who thinks you will do a lovely job! Can't wait to see it quilted!
Love the fun hearts. Perhaps you could do a different motif in each block -- swirls, squiggles, flowers, stars, hearts, zig zags, etc?
Oh wow. I am amazed by anyone who does "real" quilting. I do simple squares and call it good; none of that fancy stuff. And I often cheat and connect my layers with yarn tufts.
Yes, I know....
What if you do the quilting part in interconnecting hearts?
OOOHHHHHHHHH I like it! Great work!
LOve the quilt thus far! And the black border will make it "pop" and add a lot to it! Are you going to hand quilt or do free-motion w/the machine on the finished "sandwich"?
Mighty pretty, and a lot of time/work there!
