Doodling....

I've been experimenting with black and white doodle stitching and white canvas.  I made these little art squares - cute to use in mixed media projects.
I was going to leave them black and white, but decided to paint a little color around them with Neocolor crayons - to which I added a bit of water.  I like them.

Sabrina immediately tried to claim them. I may make her a few pins from them.  I played around with putting these on black and white polka dot fabric.  Kinda cute.

I stitched up about an 8x10 piece of canvas and cut it up into squares.   I can see a journal cover made like this - white cotton canvas with just black stitching and some color painted around the edges.  A girl can never have too many journals!

The black & white stitching is lovely and only enhanced by the neocolour shades. Black and white polka dots would look wonderful. Bfn. Lesley

These are cute! Yes, I like the color around the flowers better than all white.
BTW, have fun at your upcoming quilt show.

I like them too. I'm a huge fan of black and white, but that little splash of color is really pretty with these.

I love them. The black stitching looks wonderful and I really like the added color. I bet they would look great on the polka dot fabric!

Keep up the beautiful work! XOX

Love the doodles--they look perfect. Of course, the purple one is my favorite!

Wow Cathie I'm loving the new look around here! It's been a while since I had a chance to just sit and leisurely surf. I think it's hilarious how Samantha consistently wants the stuff you make - quite a compliment, too!

Lovely doodles. Were you inspired by the doodles in the Stitch mag I sent you? They look good with colour. Also agree, a girl can never have enough journals! Hope you have a good week ahead xoxo I was online all afternoon (just in case ...............)
